Review and Swatches: Essence Haul Items

So a couple of days ago, I did a haul of some recent purchases of mine, and amongst them were a few Essence products I picked up in target. These products are really good quality as well as reasonably priced, so I will definitely be buying more!

Anyway, onto the reviews of these products.

The first product I picked up was a lip gloss, a Stay With Me Longlasting Lip Gloss, in a deep pink berry shade called Berry Me. The colour is unlike anything I own and I adore it, and the formula has a pleasant smell as well, with the added benefit of not being too sticky. It even has a cute, and completely different style applicator that makes covering the full lid much more easy - I wouldn't know what to call an applicator such as this, possibly an hourglass applicator. This has to be applied in a thinner, rather than thicker coat of the gloss so you don't see splotchy, or uneven patches of colour. It looks quite pretty for a while, but eventually tends to fade out and leaving, a rim of colour around the edges of the lips, but still a glossy finish. If you don't mind reapplying every now and then, or a wearing it as gloss over a lipstick or lip liner, this is a perfect gloss!

As a beauty blogger, of course I was attracted to this for the simple fact that it intrigued me. I use a cream blush every now and them and I like it, but I've never seen a jelly blush before and I really wanted to try it. This is the Blush Gelee jelly blush from the Vampire's Love collection, in the shade Bloody Mary. It is a gorgeous blood red colour, that when blended out, provides a lovely rosy glow. I'm yet to wear it on my cheeks out, simply because I cannot master the right amount to use, combined with the perfect/flawless blending routine. The slightest bit too much and not blended out right makes you look like a clown, and not enough means there is kind of no point to using the product. I've been trying with my fingers, but think I might have to attempt with a brush next.

The final thing I got was a nail polish, the Colour & Go Quick Drying Nail Polish in Blue Addicted. Now, I bought this because I saw it on a blog, but for the life of me I really can't remember who's it was, and that annoys me because I really want to thank them! This is a dark blue based polish with multicoloured (that is, in shades of blues and greens), varying sizes of glitter. This is a stunning polish, that is extremely sheer - it takes about 3-4 coats to reach opacity, but when it does, it looks amazing! It's so unique and is truly a fun polish to wear. The only issue I have with this is, that me at least, did not wear well at all. I have issues with work (a darn supermarket) getting ridiculous amounts of tip chipping, but this led to chipping all over the nail. It was frustrating, but I'd certainly try it again.

So far, I have been impressed by the Essence products overall. I have also tried quick drying drops for nail polish, if anyone is interested in a review. The brand is fairly inexpensive, as I have not seen a product over $6AU yet, and are available in Australia from Target. I would highly recommend checking out their products!

Have you tried any Essence products yet?
