The $100 FOTD Challenge

I saw Lilit from Makeup and Macaroons do this challenge and it got me thinking: Can I do a complete look that I would actually wear, all from under $100AU? Many of you from other countries, particularly the US would be able to have a complete makeup collection for this amount, but when a single good 'drugstore' mascara can cost at least $18, it does add up quite quickly. I didn't realize how much I'd truly spent on makeup until I had to look through my collection and all products quickly added up to more that $100.

So firstly, apologies for the picture. I look sort of unhappy, and I'm not a fan of taking pictures of myself, but to the point - this is the look I created with my products.

Foundation: Covergirl NatureLuxe Foundation - $18.95 

Concealer: Maybelline SuperStay Concealer - $10.95

Powder: Australis Fresh and Flawless Pressed Powder - $11.40

Blush: Australis Paparazzi Perfect HD Blush in Flash It - $12.95

Eyeshadow: Rimmel Glam Eyes Quads in Smokey Brun - $12.95

Eyeliner: Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner - $8.50

Mascara:Maybelline The Falsies - $18.25

Lipstick: BYS Longwear Lipstick in Flirty Fushcia - $3.95

TOTAL = $97.70

I use a lot of these products on a day to day basis, although not all together. I generally have other products I use mixed in with these, but as I found out, they were slightly more expensive and tipped the scales.

We don't have as ready access to amazing, cheaper 'drugstore' brands like NYX or Wet n Wild. The one I'd really say is around would be BYS, but that is the only one I can really think of. I do have a few other cheaper products by BYS, but this is a look I would consider wearing out, and I found those products wouldn't really suit.

All in all, this challenge was slightly harder than I thought it would be! I made a look that works well and that I would wear, but had a hard time weeding out products that I could use for it. Still, I had lots of fun doing this!
