All Time Favorite Red Lipstick

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in 090 True Red

Last year, I had a multitude of parties I had to attend, and it was during these, that I learnt the allure of the red lip. Being someone who wore a lot of black and no colour, I was intrigued when I first found my mother's Dior lipstick, and after the first wear, I fell in love. It was a new way to add a bit of spark and sultry-ness to an outfit without being too 'slutty'. The red lip soon became my 'thing' within our group.

At my birthday last year, I received a gift box from some girlfriends, and this little baby was hidden inside it, and since then I have never looked back.

Revlon have always been known for being a great drugstore brand with quality lipsticka, and the ColorBurst range has received no less recognition. This sleek black, quilted tube holds a creamy and long lasting lipstick that would please anyone, and this particular colour just makes the product that much better.

090 True Red is a blue toned, blood red that I feel suits my, and potentially many others, skin tone perfectly. I have a light olive skin colour, and the blood red colour just suits much better than orange toned reds do - my Dior lipstick is orange toned, and although a great colour, I don't feel it works as well!

(not exactly true to colour - in natural, not bright light, it is the colour shown on the lipstick above)

I usually wear this lipstick over my red Napoleon Perdis lip pencil, and in just two slicks it reaches a bright, true red that can lasts for hours. These lipsticks have such a smooth consistency and nice wear, it is no wonder they are so raved about!

I would recommend this lipstick for anyone considering trying a red for the first time, although it might be slightly harsh for really pale people.

What's your favorite red lipstick?
Love Gianna
