From Left to Right: Gone Gonzo!, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It, Fresh Frog of Bel Air - true colours
I'm a big fan of OPI nail polishes, and it seems like the majority of the beauty blogging community are too, so when I saw the New OPI Muppets Holiday 2011 Holiday Collection, I knew I had to have it. The collection was released to celebrate the release of the Muppets movie, and contains 6 glitter polishes and 6 shimmers. I originally only liked the three I purchased, with the other glitters similar to those I already have and the others I deemed to be nothing special, but after reviewing other swatches, I will definitely be sourcing the silver and rose gold shimmers.
The 3 glitters I bought are Fresh Frog of Bel Air, Gettin' Miss Piggy With It and Gone Gonzo!
One coat over a black base
These colours look beautiful over the black. This was taken without a top coat, and the one coat could act like a top coat - it dries to a smooth, non chunky finish.
Thick layers (apologies for the missing spots, they were still wet)
These colours look gorgeous layered over black, and I imagine they'd look good over anything. Like most glitters, it's hard to get a full coat, but I imagine once done properly, would look stunning. You could take your time and do coat after coat, or thick blobs onto nails (which, as the glitters are quite runny, would take extremely long to dry.)
The other glitters are another clear based purple glitter, a pink based silver and pink glitter, and a chunky multicoloured glitter (a big favorite amongst many). The shimmers are quite pretty, but apart from Designer De Better (Champagne foil) and Warm and Fozzie (Rose gold foil), they're pretty ordinary colours.
Overall, this collection is gorgeous! The glitters are stunning and would make amazing contributions to anyones collection, as they can go with absolutely anything.
